Smithbriar Drive, Valdosta, Georgia




Valle d'Aosta, Italy is a mountainous region in Northwestern Italy. 
Valdosta, Georgia is located in the southern coastal plain, and is pretty flat.

Some believe the name they share means vale of beauty, but it really represents the first Roman emperor, Augustus. But in Georgia, when vales of azaleas are blooming, you can see how they'd be confused.


Here's another potential vale of beauty-- this step-down family room with new hardwood floors and windows, just off a fresh and bright kitchen with a large island:


It reminded me of these Fixer Upper family rooms, and not just because of the shiplap.
(Although that helped.)

Sofa in front of the windows or in front of the kitchen, or both? Chairs flanking the fireplace or the couch? Which is your favorite? I would probably switch it up seasonally, just because I could. Anything to better showcase the vale of azaleas I'd be growing in this spacious backyard:
