Happy Father's Day to all fathers out there, and to those who love them. Any guesses by the title where we are visiting today? That's right, we're in Paauilo, Hawaii. (Pa = Father, get it? I know, it's a stretch. I did try looking in Papaikou first, to make the connection more obvious.)
This is a cute and tiny vacation home, so it will be a lot fun to add character here.
Luckily for me, this nifty kitchen was recently featured on Kate's awesome blog Centsational Girl. She and her family stayed at this beach cottage, and she has more beautiful photos of it here.
The design seems tailor made for our space. I especially like how the shelves and barstools would provide a handy dropping-off spot by the front door.

There we go. I couldn't talk about vacation rentals without including something cute and fun by Jane Coslick for the Mermaid Cottages. (For more eye candy, Kelly at Talk of the House did a nice, comprehensive post about Jane recently, here.)
Now for the other bedroom:
There we go. A little more tranquil and less playful than the other bedroom, but it still has a cool shutter headboard and pretty colors.
Think Dad would like this for a vacation home? I think he's earned it.
In the spirit of vacation, I'm going to be posting a bit less frequently over the summer.
I hope you're getting a chance to enjoy a bit of your summer, too!
