Spring Circle, Omaha, Nebraska

Hello! Springfield #9 finds us in Omaha, Nebraska, near Spring Circle Street. I think you'll forgive the Springfield stretch when you see how charming this 1915 bungalow can be.

The living room features a beautiful built-in entry bench and floor cabinets.

We're taking inspiration from House Beautiful's Contributing Editor Frances Schultz, and her sweet Bee Cottage.

I thought this was a nice way to lighten our Craftsman home while still keeping a traditional feel.

Here's the other side of the room, first ours, then Frances'.

We wouldn't need her wall mirrors, but a slim game table would be pretty under our window.

You could see a glimpse of our dining room above. Here's another view.

This image, from Country Home Magazine, is a little playful, but still traditional. I love the idea of putting a leafy print on the chandelier and chairs, instead of using the expected William Morris print on the walls.

Let's duck into the kitchen. It has oak cabinets and marble tile counters.

Wait. Where's the Craftsman? Where's our 1915 charm?

Here it is, created by Crown Point Cabinetry. We could keep our oak cabinets and add molding to them, in this pattern, with the nailhead detail. The hardware looks true to the period, too. That soapstone sink is a showstopper worth a splurge.

Let's peek upstairs. There's 2 identical bedrooms there.

Here's our inspiration for the first, from House to Home (UK) Magazine.

Here's our second one.

There we go. Wallpapered, like you'd expect, but in a light-hearted way.

This is a great little house. Nice to keep its original details, and just add a little leafy freshness to it. Thanks for reading!
